ProfileIn 1999 we started Centurion Enviro Centre with the aim to play a role in environmental education.
Centurion Educational Centre (CEC) registered as Centurion Opvoedkundige Sentrum (CC 98\09737\23) uses different venues for their activities. We focus on environmental education and manage to implement educational programmes for schools, NGO’s and business communities.
CEC is perfectly poised for the successful execution of projects on the grounds of our experience and knowledge of education, cultural, recreation, community health and welfare, and related sectors as well as leadership design and execution. CEC is a community based business; it strives towards youth development and competency in the management and conservation of the environment in its totality. Environmentally-directed activities and skills are used to achieve this goal.
The centre has also qualified tour guides to its disposal.
Centurion Enviro Centre has at its disposal an extensive educational programme that is aimed at educating the youth towards fulfilled and useful citizens. We strive to guide our youth to become persons who not only utilize their free time gainfully, but who live to the advantage of their fellow man. Burns said: “Civilization may depend for its roots upon the way in which work is done, but it depends for its finest flower upon the use of leisure!” People, especially young people, crave more self confidence and ability to do the things, which are expected of them. Self confidence is developed by doing things which you are capable of. CEC is aware of this and takes this into account in the planning of activities.
As a further educational aim, the CEC strives towards nurturing respect and love for our environment – the soil, fauna and flora - to conserve this heritage, to utilize it in the most economically viable way, to develop it and protect it from pollution.
Man is a social being; therefore he can only live as part of the community in which he finds himself. The attitude of the CEC is one which believes that the youth should be educated as a social being with healthy inter-personal beliefs, inter-personal relationships and tolerance towards others. He should be prepared to give and to receive.
